The Unity ceremony (also called a "blending" ceremony) symbolizes the union of two hearts into one.
Traditionally, a set of 3 candles is used. But many modern brides choose a "sand ceremony", a popular alternative for beach and outdoor weddings. Each side vase holds a different color of sand, which are all combined into the center vase during the ceremony.
